Introduction
AcnePath ("we," "our," or "us") operates the website at acnepath.com. AcnePath is a free tool that helps people understand acne, explore treatments, and connect with dermatologists. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and your choices.
Information we collect
- Contact information — your name, email address, and phone number, collected only when you choose to send an inquiry to a dermatology clinic through AcnePath.
- Acne concerns and treatment interests — the concerns and treatments you select during the discovery flow.
- ZIP code — used to find dermatologists near you. If you choose "use my location," your approximate coordinates are used once to look up your ZIP code and are not stored.
- Usage analytics — anonymous, aggregated usage data collected through Vercel Analytics to help us improve AcnePath.
Your skin scan images
When you use the AI skin scan, your photo is processed in real time to generate treatment recommendations. We do not store, save, or retain your images. Your photo is sent securely to our AI provider for analysis and discarded immediately afterward. We never use your images for training, advertising, or any other purpose.
How we use your information
- To analyze your skin and recommend acne treatments.
- To find dermatologists near you.
- To deliver the inquiry you choose to send to a clinic.
- To operate, secure, and improve AcnePath.
How inquiries are shared
AcnePath exists to connect patients with dermatology clinics that offer acne treatment, including the Accure Acne Laser. When you choose to send an inquiry, the contact details and message you provide are shared with:
- The dermatology clinic(s) you select, so they can respond to you directly.
- Accure, the medical-device company that makes the Accure Acne Laser, so its team can support clinics that treat acne patients in your area.
We share your information only when you actively send an inquiry, and only with the parties described above. We do not sell your personal information.
Service providers
AcnePath relies on trusted third-party services to operate, including:
- Anthropic (Claude) — AI skin analysis
- OpenAI and Replicate — AI before/after preview
- Resend — sending inquiry and confirmation emails
- Google Places and the NPI Registry — dermatologist listings and ratings
- Vercel — website hosting and anonymous analytics
These providers process information only as needed to deliver their service.
Advertising
AcnePath may display ads through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can manage ad personalization in your Google Ad Settings.
Data retention
A record of each inquiry you send — your contact details, selected concerns, and message — is kept so we can operate and support the service. Skin scan images are never retained. You may request deletion of your inquiry records at any time.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information you have provided. To make a request, email us at Support@acnepath.com.
Children's privacy
AcnePath is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Minors should use AcnePath only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above.
